All For Love London were thrilled to be asked once again to create show-stopping creative installations for Chelsea in Bloom 2018!
Celebrating its 13th Anniversary, the world class alternative floral art show was produced by Cadogan Estate in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), and transformed the streets of Chelsea from the 21st to 26th May with breathtaking floral displays.
This year’s theme is ‘Summer of Love’, inspired by the Royal Wedding and the 60’s/70’s love revolution. As the Show’s florist, All For Love London created a number of floral pieces representing love and weddings in many symbolic formats.
Beginning at Sloane Square, there was a beautiful, giant Heart - the heart shape, by a modern definition, is used to express the idea of the human “heart” in its metaphorical sense as the core of emotion, affection, and love. The giant installation of a heart is made using fresh seasonal foliage and summery, colourful flowers.
Then, moving down to Pavilion Road, a symbolic image of a wedding was represented by a stunning 4 metre high giant engagement ring of flowers. Made entirely from fresh seasonal foliage and flowers this piece takes inspiration from the never-ending circle shape of both a wedding and engagement ring and is the ultimate symbol of romance.
Finally, ending at Sloane Street, a pair of loved up Swans celebrated this year’s theme perfectly. The Swan symbolizes grace and beauty on many levels. It is associated with love, devotion and partnership. In Roman mythology the Swan was sacred to Venus, the goddess of love. The birds pair for years and often the male/female union lasts a lifetime. The necks of the two birds join to create a perfect heart shape - the ultimate symbol of love!
For Ruth, “Being a part of this famous Chelsea flower project last year was an absolute dream come true for me, and to be asked back for a second year was a real honour and privilege. It’s a wonderful British institution and as a flower festival, it’s the pinnacle for every florist to aim to play a part in.For me, it is a career high to be involved, and I am truly honoured to have been commissioned by Cadogan Estate once again to design and create their public art installations for this year's Chelsea in Bloom. The whole process has been an absolute joy.”
We also dressed the visitor areas to really spread the flower love...
