According to the met office, today is the last day of Winter and one of the wettest Winter's at that. Keeping with tradition, it is once again raining today but while I too crave some golden rays, I can't ignore the beauty of the rain falling on roses...and I have certainly had plenty of time to appreciate it this year! Just like Frauline Maria, raindrops on roses are definitely one of my favorite things. There is something endlessly romantic and beautiful about roses speckled in water droplets. There is a fresh magic to it, as they glisten in the post-rain light that is simply mesmerizing. I must have hundreds of photos on my phone where I have stopped in the pouring rain to snap the water soaked petals of a rose. Here are just a few of them... and another reason why rain isn’t all that bad after all!
